PRESS STATEMENT
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

MORAJ Expresses Deep Concerns Over Viral Preaching Against Muslims and Christians and Calls for Calm and Constitutional Restraint.
The Muslim Organisation for Rights Advocacy and Justice (hereinafter referred to as “MORAJ”) has observed with deep concern the circulating social media videos featuring one Linda Paul Rica who claims to have experienced death and an encounter with Jesus Christ while asserting that a significant number of Christians and Muslims will not enter heaven.
MORAJ recognises that the dissemination of such claims has sparked strong emotions and heated debate across the country.
We note that the central message of this preaching directly challenges the doctrinal foundations of both Islam and Christianity and has the potential to sow discord among Sierra Leoneans who have long co-existed peacefully.
MORAJ wishes to state clearly that while the Constitution of Sierra Leone guarantees the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion including the right to propagate one’s faith, such rights are not absolute.
They must be exercised with respect for the rights and reputations of others, public order, and national cohesion.
MORAJ further notes that claims of divine revelation or journeys to the afterlife are matters of personal testimony and faith, not verifiable fact. No individual, regardless of their claimed experience, has the authority to pronounce final judgment on the eternal destiny of any group, whether Christian or Muslim.
We believe firmly that ultimate judgment belongs to Allah alone and no human being may usurp that divine prerogative.
MORAJ therefore calls on the Ministry of Social Welfare, Ministry of Internal Affairs and in particular the Inter-Religious Council of Sierra Leone to issue a joint statement urging calm and reminding all faith leaders of their responsibility to promote mutual respect and social harmony.
Finally, MORAJ urges the public to remain vigilant against those who seek to exploit religious differences for personal gain or notoriety. We must not allow a single viral video to fracture the peaceful co-existence that defines our nation.
MORAJ reiterates its commitment to defending the rights of Muslims and all citizens to practice their faith freely and without fear. We will continue to engage constructively with the Government and the Inter-Religious Council to ensure that religious discourse in Sierra Leone remains respectful, lawful, and conducive to national unity.
