AM NOT A VICTIM Ed Sheeran’s U.S.
US rapper Macklemore has spoken out after being removed from Ed Sheeran’s U.S. tour, saying the decision followed his outspoken activism over the genocide in Gaza. He stressed that neither he nor Sheeran, Pink, or other artists involved should be viewed as victims, arguing that the real victims are Palestinians facing death, starvation, displacement, and ongoing violence.
Macklemore said that more than 20,000 children had been killed in Gaza and urged people not to lose sight of their suffering. He then claimed that Ed Sheeran told him Robert Kraft, the billionaire owner of the New England Patriots and the Kraft Group, which owns Gillette Stadium, had contacted him following Macklemore’s comments at MetLife Stadium. According to Macklemore, Kraft told Sheeran that Macklemore would not be allowed to perform at Gillette Stadium and had rallied other stadium owners to take the same position, allegedly giving Sheeran an ultimatum: if Macklemore remained on the tour, Sheeran would not be allowed to perform at their venues.
